Feathering
Feathering
When beginning a turn with a pivot, feathering is the act of quickly and skillfully bringing that pivot to an end, and beginning to carve or steer the new turn. Feathering requires a well developed set of edging skills. Learning how to vary skid angle during a turn, and how to change back and forth from carving to steering at will, enhances a skier's ability to execute high quality feathering.
