Edge Change

Edge Change

Edge change is something that takes place during the transition between turns.  A skier rolls their skis off their uphill edges, to bring the current turn to finish, then continues to roll them through flat to the snow, and finally onto their downhill edges, to initiate the next turn.    The entire rolling process, from one set of edges to the opposite set, occurs as one smooth movement.  It’s called an edge change.
