Center Balanced

Center Balanced

A fore/aft balance state in which pressure is distributed evenly across the ball and heel of the foot.  It's the most efficient fore/aft balance state, because it allow the foot to function at its full capacity as a balancing mechanism, and allows the body to assume the strongest possible stance.  It also allows the ski to carve very cleanly and precisely, with pressure distributed evenly from tip to tail.  When on gentle or moderate terrain, skiing center balanced through each phase of the turn is an option that can provide a very relaxing way to descend the slope.
